Live Debate | Failure of Aid System in Haiti?
The first Live Policy Debate on the failure of the aid system in Haiti took place on 25 February 2014 at the Graduate Institute in Geneva and was a great success. More than 200 policymakers, practitioners, professors and students gathered in Maison de la Paix to follow the lively debate between Jean-Marc Biquet (MSF | CERAH), Andrea Binder (GPPi) and Elyse Mosquini (Disaster Law Programme, IFRC), who analysed the emergency response in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. Each panellist briefly presented their reflections before opening the debate to the floor and inviting the audience to participate. The debate was moderated by Prof. Gilles Carbonnier (Graduate Institute | Editor-in-chief of the journal International Development Policy).
The event drew upon the written debate Failure of the Aid System in Haiti, which was published in the journal International Development Policy in 2013.
